Mr. George W. "G W" Mashburn, 57, of Buckatunna, MS passed from this life Friday, September 18, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was born in Waynesboro, MS on Monday, February 3, 1969, to the late Billy Wade Mashburn, Sr. and Mary Alice Howse Mashburn. George worked several years at Wayne County News and in his later years worked in construction until becoming disabled.

   Mr. Mashburn is preceded in death by his parents, Billy Wade Mashburn, Sr. and Mary Alice Howse Mashburn; two nephews, Johnny Mashburn and Mark Hutto; Brother-In-Law, Barkley Bradley. He is survived by two sisters, Sherri Bradley of Millry, AL and Sharmain Hutto (Terry) of Chicora, MS; two brothers, Billy Mashburn, Jr. of Chicora, MS and Fred Mashburn of Buckatunna, MS; Sister-In-Law, Ann Corley of Winchester, MS; raised like a son, B. J. Crawley of Buckatunna, MS; two nephews, Eric Hutto of Chicora, MS and Bobo Mashburn of Buckatunna, MS; two nieces, Mary Ann Waite (Shaun) of Millry, AL and Rebekah Hutto Auvil of Chicora, MS; a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews; two aunts, Lola Cambell of Chicora, MS and Sarah McCaffrey (Pat) of Gulfport, MS; special friends, Brenda Harvey and the staff at Annie's House in Boyle, MS.

   A Graveside Service for Mr. Mashburn will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Chicora-Davis Cemetery in Chicora, MS with Rev. Michael Beckwith and Rev. Mitchell Smith officiating. Interment will be in Chicora-Davis Cemetery in Chicora, MS.
