Mrs. Gail Maginness, 84, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Monday, August 3, 2026, at her residence. She was born in New Orleans, LA on Wednesday, January 21, 1942.

   Mrs. Maginness is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Maginness; mother, Emma Taylor; two sons, Patrick Maginness and Timothy Maginness; two granddaughters, Kelli Ann Welborn and Hollie Welborn. She is survived by two sons, Rickey Welborn and Mike Welborn; Daughter-In-Law, Joanna Maginness, all of Waynesboro, MS; brother, James "Jimmy" Taylor of Lake Martin, AL; two granddaughters, Summer Smith (Jonathan) and Christy Harsey; three great grandchildren, Taylor Harsey, Chase Harsey, and Evoli Welborn; great-great grandchild, Taylee Harsey; raised as a grandson, Carlos McCarty, Jr.

   Visitation for Mrs. Maginness will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, August 7, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, 11356 Clarke County Road 511, Quitman, MS. Interment will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Quitman, MS.
