Obituary

Rev. Frank Henry Henderson, Sr., 90, of Waynesboro, MS passed in the early morning of Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at his residence and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born in Waynesboro, MS on Thursday, July 11, 1935, to the late Chapman N. and Elizabeth Henderson. He was a member of Trinity Free Will Baptist Church in Clara, MS. Rev. Frank was a retired Free Will Baptist Minister who pastored numerous churches in south Mississippi. He was also a retired machine operator for various departments in Wayne County, MS.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife; Frances C. Henderson, Twin Brother; Thomas Henderson, Three other brothers; George Henderson, Carlton Henderson, and Joseph Henderson, One sister; Nona Gray Walters and Parents; Chapman Henderson and Elizabeth Henderson. He is survived by one brother, Charles Henderson (Virginia) of Waynesboro, MS; three sons and two daughters, Frank Henry Henderson Jr. of Waynesboro, MS, Larry Henderson (Tamara) of Hattiesburg, MS, Patty Hill of Hattiesburg, MS, Gerald Henderson (Michelle) of Moselle, MS, and Melissa Davis (Bill) of Waynesboro, MS; six grandchildren, Nathan Hill, Joseph Henderson (Allison), Kelly Henderson Locastro (Weston), Clint Locke (Kaitlynn), Katie Henderson Windham (J.T.), and Haley Locke. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

Rev. Frank was a man who loved the Lord with all his heart. His faith in Jesus Christ guided the way he lived his life every day. He was a godly man who loved his family deeply and showed that love through his kindness, strength, wisdom, and the way he always took care of those around him. He found joy in the simplest things such as spending quality time with family, fishing for white perch or catfish, and Maxwell House coffee at 6:00am every morning. Many will hear him say the following two statements; “Me and You but Mostly You.” or “Now let me tell you something about our Lord.” Some of our sweetest memories will always be of the life he lived, the stories he told, and the love he shared so freely. Rev. Frank is now in Heaven rejoicing, reuniting with loved ones, and most importantly standing in the presence of the Savior he loved so much. He has no more pain, heartache or suffering; just peace and happiness for now and eternity.

Visitation for Rev. Frank Henderson will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS 39367. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Trinity Free Will Baptist Church in Waynesboro, MS with a lie-in-state from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with Rev. Gerald Henderson and Rev. Jarrod Vanderslice officiating. Interment will be in Corinth Cemetery in Wayne County, MS.

Most importantly, his favorite scripture was Psalm 23, and he carried those words with him throughout his life and his trust in the Lord. As follows: Psalm 23:1-6; “The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”
