Mrs. Ernestine R. Cooley, 86, of Laurel, MS passed from this life Thursday, November 30, 2023, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS. She was born in Saratoga Springs, NY on Monday, May 24, 1937, to the late Ausburn and Louella Deuel. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She retired as a cafeteria manager at Wayne County High School. Mrs. Cooley is preceded in death by her husband, William Gary Cooley; parents, Ausburn and Louella Deuel; two grandsons, Mason Cooley, Andrew Cooley. She is survived by two sons, Clay Cooley (Kalla), Greg Cooley (Nicole), both of Laurel, MS; brother, Kenneth Deuel of Saratoga Springs, NY; sister, Elizabeth Perkins (Sid) of Schuylerville, NY; grandson, Aieron Cooley (Danelle) of Laurel, MS; granddaugther, Victoria Rogers (Sethe), Morton, MS; two great grandchildren, Kadence Cooley, Bailey Lofton. Visitation for Mrs. Cooley will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Monday, December 4, 2023, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 PM Monday, December 4, 2023, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Wayne County, MS. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Wayne County, MS.
