Mr. Enoch Moses Kirkland, 77, of Millry, AL passed from this life Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Flat Branch Church in Millry, AL surrounded by family and friends while celebrating its 91st homecoming. He was born in Millry, AL on Tuesday, September 2, 1947, to the Ras Kirkland and Jettie Mae Douglas.

Mr. Enoch graduated from Millry High School in 1967 where he began his career as a first-class welder and was admired for his exceptional welding skills, which can be seen on the gates of Flat Branch Cemetery. After graduating he moved to Mobile, AL looking for work and met the love of his life Bonnie Jean Dearman. He went to work for Nibrock Inc. as a welder. After working over 35 years, he retired. Enoch and his bride decided to move back to Millry, AL his home in Red Creek. Enoch enjoyed coon hunting and competitions hunts in which he passed on to his grandson. He loved to relax by watching wrestling and old westerns. Every year he looked forward to grinding sugar cane with his mule Pete. With only so much TV and relaxing, he later decided to go back to work with Washington County Road and Bridge. He was a member of Sandridge Church of God but visited many of the local churches. Everyone will always remember him for his infectious smile, friendly conversations, jokes, kindness, thoughtfulness, and gentleness.

Mr. Enoch is preceded in death by his father, Ras Kirkland; mother, Jettie Mae Douglas; infant sister, Infant Kirkland. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Bonnie Jean Kirkland of Millry, AL; daughter, Kathleen Smith (Sherman) of Mobile, AL; son, Steven Kirkland (Cristin) of Maryville, TN; four brothers, Roy Kirkland (Melanie) of Millry, AL, Bill Kirkland (Cheryl), Edward Kirkland (Gloria), both of McIntosh, AL, Dale Douglas of Chickasaw; two sisters, Wanda Rivers of Chickasaw, AL, Juanette Stewart (Dennis) of Mobile, AL; three grandchildren, Tyler Smith (Tiffani) of Lucedale, MS, Noah Kirkland of Saraland, AL, Gabrielle Smith (Luke Bryant) of Mobile, AL; a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Enoch will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Flat Branch Church, Millry, AL. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Flat Branch Church in Millry, AL with Rev. Shawn Hales and Rev. Jim Koen officiating. Interment will be in Flat Branch Cemetery in Millry, AL.
