Mr. Earnest Joe Wooten, 59, of Wayne County, MS passed from this life Friday, January 7, 2022 at University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in Birmingham, AL. He was born in Waynesboro, MS on Sunday, September 9, 1962 to Earnest Joe and Maxine Holliday Wooten. He worked in the oil field as an offshore lead mechanic. Mr. Wooten is preceded in death by his father, Earnest Joe Wooten; mother, Maxine Holliday Bufkin; brother, Steve Wooten. He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Teressa Wooten, Wayne County, MS; two sons, Earnest Joe Wooten, III (Amber), Wayne County, MS, Khristopher Wooten (Kirsten), Moselle, MS; three brothers, Carl Wooten, Laurel, MS, Dan Wooten (Darlene), Wayne County, MS, Wess Bufkin (Rhonda), Crystal Springs, MS; sister, Debra Wooten, Wesson, MS; 14 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation for Mr. Wooten will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday, January 10, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Thomas Cochran and Rev. Deke Cochran officiating. Interment will be in Sellers Cemetery in Wayne County, MS.
