Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Cranford, 80, of Meridian, MS passed from this life Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Jeff Anderson Memorial Hospital in Meridian, MS. She was born in Millry, AL on Thursday, September 9, 1943, to the late Eugene Solomon Waites and Nora Leigh Waites. She worked as a seamstress for Cam Manufacturing.

Mrs. Cranford is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Solomon and Nora Leigh Waites; son, Baby Cranford; brother, Billy Wayne Waites; two sisters, Cathy Cranford, Minnie Cooley; three great grandchildren, Piper Grace Moseley, Katherine Tate, and Kayleigh Turner. She is survived by two daughters, Vickie Moseley (Terry), Jeannie Tate, both of Meridian, MS; brother, Harold Waites (Diane) of Millry, AL; sister, Betty Laton (Don) of Laton Hill, AL; five grandchildren, Reva Jean Vess (Bobby Turner), Melani Moseley, Dena LeAnn Turner, Trent Moseley (Bethany), and Ridge Tate (Stephanie); five great grandchildren, Ridge Tate, Jr., Violet Tate, James Dean Turner, Catherine Turner, and Bobby Turner, Jr.

Visitation for Mrs. Cranford will be held from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Monday, May 27, 2024, at Antioch Baptist Church in Millry, AL. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, May 27, 2024, at Antioch Baptist Church in Millry, AL with Rev. Frankie Dunn officiating. Interment will be in Antioch Cemetery in Millry, AL.
