Mrs. Dorothy L. "Dot" Kellum, 99, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Jones County Rest Home in Ellisville, MS. She was born in Ellisville, MS on Saturday, January 2, 1926, to the late Annie Mae and Walter Lee Cheeks. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She worked as a machine operator at the Blanket Factory in Waynesboro, MS. After leaving the Blanket Factory she worked in numerous other local stores and offices making friends all over Wayne County. Mrs. Dot is preceded in death by her husband, R. L. Kellum; parents, Annie Mae and Walter Lee Cheeks; son, Larry Kellum; two brothers, Raymon Cheeks and Edward Cheeks. She is survived by her son, Charles Kellum of Buckatunna, MS; sister, Ruth Graham of Pascagoula, MS; three grandchildren, Kathy Leigh Boe (Trey), Kevin Lee Kellum, and Larry Keith Kellum (LeeAnne); five great grandchildren, Heather Nolen (Shane), Kody Chance, Haley Kellum, Karlyn Kellum, and Audrey Kellum; four great-great grandchildren, Alli Nolen, Chance Nolen, Walker Nolen, and Raylan "R. L." Nolen. Visitation for Mrs. Dot will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Paul Harris officiating. Interment will be in Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
