Mrs. Debbie Dykes, 65, of Waynesboro, Mississippi, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, Mississippi. She was born on Friday, January 6, 1961, in Laurel, Mississippi, to Billy Joe Newsome and Dollie Hollingshead Blount. Mrs. Dykes was a member of First Baptist Church of Sharon. She had a deep love for cooking and baking for her family and friends and found great joy in caring for them. She was employed with the Wayne County School District at Beat Four School in the cafeteria. Mrs. Dykes was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Tod Dykes, and her father, Billy Joe Newsome. She is survived by her mother, Dollie Hollingshead Blount of Waynesboro, MS; her son, Josh Dykes (Courtney) of Waynesboro, MS; her daughter, Randalyn Dykes of Waynesboro, MS; her brother, Ted Newsome (Loria); and her two cherished grandchildren, Asher Dykes and Ander Dykes. Visitation for Mrs. Dykes will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Ervin Mooney and Rev. Frankie Clark officiating. Interment will follow at West Shady Grove Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
