Mrs. Deanna "Dee" Shepard, 64, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at her mother's residence in Laurel, MS. She was born in Laurel, MS on Thursday, July 19, 1962, to Herman Cecil Deas and Eunice Janette Ellzey. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Jones County Rest Home.

   Mrs. Shepard is preceded in death by her father, Herman Cecil Deas; grandson, Bryce McMillan; two sisters, Toni Jo Hennis and Tracy Humphrey; brother, David Deas. She is survived by her mother, Eunice Janette Ellzey; son, Ed Brownlee (Hope); daughter, Carmen McMillan (Barry), all of Laurel, MS; seven grandchildren, Zachery, Matthew, Noah, Carson, Hatten, Hance, and Sarah; two sisters, Vickie Sparano of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Falon Deas of Ellisville, MS; four brothers, Bo Ellzey of Leakesville, MS, Damon Deas of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Dean Deas of Waynesboro, MS, and Ken Walters of Laurel, MS; a host of nieces and nephews.

   Visitation for Mrs. Shepard will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, September 7, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 7, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Brad Brownlee officiating. Interment will be in Boyles Chapel Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
