Mr. Dawan E. Heap, 97, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Wayne General Hospital. He was born in Madison County, MS on Tuesday, November 17, 1925 to Jimmy Heap and Nancy Heap. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Heap served in the United States Navy and was a Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Masonic Lodge 634. He retired as a Retail Training Administrator. Mr. Heap is preceded in death by first wife, Jewel Barnett Heap; father, Jimmy Heap; mother, Nancy Heap; brother, Robert Heap; stepson, Gary Martin. He is survived by wife, Shirley Heap, Waynesboro, MS; two sons, Donald Heap (Annie), Shubuta, MS, Joseph Heap (Kathy), Huntington Beach, CA; two daughters, Chellie Robinson (Mark), Canton, TX, Perian Lund (Poul Erik), Odense, Denmark; two stepsons, Tim Martin, Buckatunna, MS, Ronnie Martin, Mobile, AL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Heap will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Evergreen Baptist Church, Shubuta, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Evergreen Baptist Church with Dr. John Mark Robinson, Dr. Brett Golson, and Rev. Tim Martin officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers are Donald Heap, Joseph Heap, Spencer Harmon, Craig Harmon, Chris Smith, and Mark Robinson.
