Mr. David "Dab" Gardner, 76, of Fruitdale, AL passed from this life Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Four Points, AL on Wednesday, December 14, 1949, to the late Earnest Avenue Gardner and Hattie Dees Gardner. He was a member of Fruitdale Methodist Church. He retired as an Insurance Agent for ALFA Insurance.

   Mr. Gardner is preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Avenue Gardner and Hattie Dees Gardner; two brothers, James R. Gardner and Johnnie Joe Gardner; Brother-In-Law - Billy Grimes; two uncles, J. L. Gardner and Edgar "Butler" Gardner. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Janice Jones Gardner of Fruitdale, AL; two sons, Jason Gardner of Livingston, AL and Alex Gardner (Allison) of Crawford, MS; brother, Earnest "Pete" Gardner (Marilyn) of State Line, MS; sister, Beatrice Grimes of Georgia.

   Visitation for Mr. Gardner will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS 39367. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Tommy Gaillard and Clarence Miller officiating. Interment will be in Grace Williams Cemetery in Fruitdale, AL.
