Cecelia Mills's Obituary

Ms. Cecelia Mills, 67, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Thursday, July 10, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lucedale, MS on Sunday, October 27, 1957, to the late Rev. William R. Mills and Sis. Berniece Mills. She was a faithful member of Clara First Church of God. Cecelia's death leaves us filled with both immeasurable sorrow and endless gratitude. She lit up our lives in ways that words can scarcely capture.  Cecelia was so much more than a person with special needs; she was the embodiment of a love that knows no bounds. Her smile wasn't reserved for just a few; she loved without prejudice. Growing up, Cecelia faced challenges and limitations yet taught us all to see life from a different, richer perspective. We learned that compassion is not a trait reserved for the few, but a universal language that connects us all. Her memory is not limited by the confines of our grief but is an ever-present reminder that every life, with its struggles and triumphs, is worthy of celebration. While we will deeply miss her physical presence, the lessons learned from her will continue to resonate in our hearts and guide us through the darkness. The legacy of Cecelia is one of a pure heart, profound love of God and the unbreakable bonds of friendship and family. We will remember her not with tears of sorrow, but with a smile that reflects the joy she brought into this world. In our hearts, Cecelia's giggles, laughter, dreams, and transparent honesty will always leave a lasting imprint, inspiring us to see the extraordinary in the ordinary and to have a pure heart as she did. Ms. Mills is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. William R. Mills and Sis. Berniece Mills; niece, Jennifer Romijn; brother, Chris Mills; grandparents, Herman, Myrtle, Willie Mills and Millard, Virgie, and Kathleen Howell. She is survived by her sister, Sharry Muscat (Vince); two brothers, Freddie Mills (Carla) and Marlon Walley (Imogene), all of Clara, MS; nieces and nephews, Chris Muscat (Christina), Lakisha West (Robert), Brandi Freeman (Dustin), Brianna Smith (Kaleb); five great nieces and six great nephews.
