Mr. Calvin C. Harris, 96, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Monday, September 8, 2025, at ComfortCare Nursing Center in Laurel, MS. He was born in Millry, AL on Thursday, November 8, 1928, to the late George Carter, Sr. and Zettie Kirkland Carter. He attended Little Rock Assembly of God. Mr. Harris is preceded in death by his parents, George Carter, Sr. and Zettie Kirkland Carter; two sons, Wayne Paul Harris and Calvin Harris, Jr.; siblings, Flosie Thompson, Burl Harris, Mary Adzic, and Texine Andrews. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Nancy Elizabeth Harris; children, Griffen Earl Harris, Sr., George Wesley Harris, Thomas Steven Harris, Sr. (Cheryl), and Linda White; step children, Shirley Jones, Curtis Lassiter, Nancy Lassiter, Vickie Hopkins (David), and Loree Lovell (Eddie); 24 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; siblings, George Carter, Jr., Alberta Henderson, and Griffen Carter (Brenda). Visitation for Mr. Harris will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Ryan Powers and Rev. Bruce Cooley officiating. Interment will be in White House Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
