Bro. Sidney B Hill, 86, of Millry, AL passed from this life Thursday, January 4, 2024, at SAAD Hospice in Mobile, AL with his loving and devoted wife by his side. He was born in Marengo County, AL on Wednesday, July 14, 1937, to the late James Napolean Hill and Annie (Strickland) Hill.

Bro. Hill graduated from Sweetwater High School and enlisted in the United States Army where he served from 1955 to 1958. Following his military service, he pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Livingston College and a master's degree from the University of South Alabama, retiring as a high school teacher and guidance counselor from Millry High School. He was ordained as a minister in 1960 and pastored until the age of 85, dedicating his life to serving his Lord and others. He loved watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune with the love of his life "Gwen". He was also an avid fisherman and turkey hunter who enjoyed the outdoors.

Bro. Hill is preceded in death by his parents, James Napolean Hill and Annie (Strickland) Hill; five brothers, Elga Hill, Jake Hill, John Hill, Gordon Hill, and Ellis Hill; sister, Lucy Dale Hill. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Gwendolyn (Cannon) Hill of Millry, AL; two daughters, Brenda Elefante (Art) of Amissville, VA, Bettie Norris (Ron) of Mobile, AL; three grandchildren, Jared Moss of Ocoee, FL, Justin Moss (Rebekah) of Stafford, VA, Danielle Smith (Connor) of Mobile, AL; four great grandchildren, Ethan Sidney Moss, Aaron Ray Moss, Owen Gabriel Moss, and John Carson Moss.

Visitation for Bro. Hill will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Ken Beasley and Rev. Lister Hill officiating. Interment will be in Sandridge Cemetery in Millry, AL.
