Obituary

   Mr. Bobby Craig Stanley, 90, of Shubuta, MS passed from this life Sunday, May 17, 2026, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Shubuta, MS on Sunday, March 8, 1936, to the late Joseph L. and Lola G. Stanley. He was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church. He worked as a self-employed farmer and truck driver. Bobby Craig loved his three girls more than life itself and will always be remembered for his Two-Step Dancing. He enjoyed being outdoors on his tractor and with his cows.

   Mr. Stanley is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph L. and Lola G. Stanley; brother, Lewis "Pete" Stanley; sister, Josephine James. He is survived by three daughters, Leigh Whitten, Kim Stanley, both of Corinth, MS, and Dawn Trest (Chuck) of Heidelberg, MS; two grandsons, Rusty Whitten of Memphis, TN and Clark Whitten (Andrea) of Michie, TN; two step grandsons, Josh Kirby of Laurel, MS and Austin Trest (Sarah) of Hattiesburg, MS; three great grandsons, Ty Whitten, Ryder Whitten, and Fynn Whitten; two step great granddaughters, Addyson Kirby, and Charlie Trest; a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

   Visitation for Mr. Stanley will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS 39367. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Fred Toomey, Clark Whitten, and Rusty Whitten officiating. Interment will be in Clear Creek Cemetery in Shubuta, MS. Pallbearers are Rusty Whitten, Clark Whitten, Chuck Trest, Chad Stanley, Matthew Campbell, and Kade Davis. Honorary Pallbearers are Ty Whitten, Ryder Whitten, Fynn Whitten, Josh Kirby, and Austin Trest.
