Mr. Billy Ray Mason, 77, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Monday, December 20, 2021 at Wayne General Hospital. He was born in Waynesboro on Thursday, October 26, 1944 to Obie Mason and Stella Mason. He was a devoted member and Deacon of Water Oak Baptist Church. He served in the Mississippi Army National Guard from 1966-1972. He retired from Ingalls Shipyard as Carpenter Foreman. Mr. Billy is preceded in death by his father, Obie Mason; mother, Stella Mason; one sister, Betty Rae Malley. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Mason; son, Will Mason (LaDonna); two daughters, Jennifer Henderson (Ray), Teresa Newell (Mike), all of Clara, MS; three brothers, Morris Mason (Janet), Clara, MS, Charlie Mason (Janice), Chicora, MS, Ronnie Mason (Melissa), Clara, MS; three sisters, Dora Ross, Debbie McIlwain, both of Waynesboro, MS, Paula Trigg (Randy), Clara, MS; six grandchildren, Savana Mason, Bryce Mason, Bo Henderson, Ashlyn Henderson, Mikayla Newell, Joseph Newell, all of Clara, MS; several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mr. Billy will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Moore and Rev. Jason Sehon officiating. Interment will be in Water Oak Cemetery.
