Mrs. Betty Carlene Smith, 57, of Laurel, MS passed from this life Monday, January 10, 2022 at her residence in Laurel. She was born in Waynesboro on Tuesday, December 29, 1964 to Carlton E. Smith, Sr. and Betty Jean Smith Henderson. She had worked as a Secretary at C & A Scrap Metal. Mrs. Carlene is preceded in death by her father, Carlton E. Smith, Sr.; mother, Betty Jean Smith Henderson; brother, Carlton E. Smith, Jr.; sister, Cathy Jo Smith. She is survived by her son, Alex Trenton Miller; daughter, Hali V. Jordan (Dustin), Paisley Clarice Beal, all of Laurel, MS; brother, Audrey Smith (Robin), Millry, AL; father of children, Robert Miller; special friend, Veronica Shantell Beal, both of Laurel, MS. Visitation for Mrs. Carlene will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Jojo Weaver officiating. Interment will be in Pine Tree Cemetery in Millry, AL.
