Mr. Beretta James "B.J." Lord, 26, of Brooklyn, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026, in Mobile, Alabama. Born on Tuesday, January 11, 2000, in Gretna, Louisiana, B.J. was the son of Shawn Allen Lord, Sr. and Angela Ann Sanders. B.J. worked as a deckhand with Cooper Marine, where he took pride in his work on the water. He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, boating, tubing, shooting pool, and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his fiancée, Victoria Nicole Stuwart; his father, Shawn Allen Lord, Sr.; his mother, Angela Ann Sanders (Russell Ledet, Sr.); his brother, Shawn Allen Lord, Jr. (Hannah); and his sisters, Heather Nance (Brandon Oaks), Angelica Lord, and Seirra Michelle, along with many other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, with Rev. Rickey Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Waynesboro, Mississippi.
