Mrs. Annie Ruth Cox, 86, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Pine View Health and Rehabilitation in Waynesboro, MS. She was born in Needham, AL on Saturday, August 14, 1937 to John Doggett and Gladys Fleming Doggett. She was a member of Cross Roads Methodist Protestant Church.  She worked as a Fabric Cutter at Quitman Knitting Mill. Mrs. Cox is preceded in death by her husband, J. W. "Buddy" Cox; father, John Doggett; mother, Gladys Fleming Doggett; daughter, Barbara Ann "Penny" Barlow Walley; brother, Raymond Doggett; sister, Faye Doggett Massey. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Fuqua (Frank) of Andalusia, AL; sister, Sue Doggett; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Cox will be held from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Cross Roads Cemetery, 177 County Road 144, Quitman, MS. Graveside Services will be held at 3:30 PM Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Cross Roads Cemetery with Bro. Kelton Lee officiating.
