Mrs. Aline Burgess Rigney, 81, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Friday, January 6, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Greene County, MS on Monday, April 28, 1941 to the late William Claude Burgess and Vermell Burgess. She was a member of Buckatunna Free Will Baptist Church. She was retired as a Line Worker at Wells Lamont Glove Factory in Waynesboro, MS. Mrs. Rigney is preceded in death by her parents, William Claude Burgess and Vermell Burgess; daughter, Sherline Rigney; two brothers, William "Vardie" Burgess, John Allen Burgess; five sisters, Zeline Rainwater, Mary Lynn Mayo, Glendine Holliman, Texine Smith, Azaline Bonner. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, John Paul Rigney; two daughters, Karen Kelley (Tommy), Tamara Roach (Larry), all of Waynesboro, MS; brother, J. C. "Bud" Burgess of Buckatunna, MS; sister, Peggy Snellgrove (James) of Shubuta, MS; three grandchildren, Jona Stevens (Corey) of Waynesboro, MS, Megan Hancock (Corey) of Starkville, MS, Toby Roach (Kalin) of Fairhope, AL; three great grandchildren, Reese, Brantley, and Millie Thomas. Services for Mrs. Rigney will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Buckatunna, MS with Rev. Larry Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Buckatunna, MS.
