Rae" Coxwell (Sullivan) Cunningham
November 10, 1928 – October 27, 2022
Alice "Baby Rae" Coxwell Cunningham, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at the hospital in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. She was born on November 10, 1928, in Buckatunna, MS to the late Alice and Frank Sullivan. After leaving Wayne County, MS she resided in Ft. Walton Beach, FL for over 50 years.
Alice worked in various positions before retiring from the Okaloosa County School System. She was a member of the Cinco Baptist Church for many years. One of Alice's passions was dancing; she enjoyed her membership with the Psarda Club. She also valued her years of walking with friends at the mall. Alice always enjoyed a good joke.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Frank Sullivan; her beloved son, Tommy Ray Coxwell; a grandson, three brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by her in-laws, Mickey Sullivan of Buckatunna, MS; Dorothy and Mervin Coxwell of Waynesboro, MS, and Norris Coxwell of Mt. Zion, MS; two daughters: Sherra Montgomery of State Line, MS and Linda Ladner of Navarre, FL; her son-in-law, Mike Ladner; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, as well a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Alice will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home located at 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS 39367. Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Brandon Rowell officiating.
The family would like to thank both McLaughlin Funeral Home in Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Freeman Funeral in Waynesboro, MS for all the preparations and arrangements. Also, a special thanks to all the personnel at Belvedere Commons for the loving care she received while being there.
