Mr. Albert Long, 78, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Wayne County, MS on Wednesday, September 13, 1944 to the late Dewitt Talmadge Long, Sr. and Verda Long. Mr. Long served in the United States Army Reserve. He was of the Christian Faith. He retired as a Chemical Operator at Ciba-Geigy Corporation in McIntosh, AL. Mr. Long is preceded in death by his parents, Dewitt Talmadge Long, Sr. and Verda Long; two brothers, Talmadge Long, Leo Long; four sisters, Mary Nell Prince, Pauline Foxworth, Myrtle Holcomb, Mattie McIlwian. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Janet Long of Waynesboro, MS; two sons, Kevin Long (Shelly) of Hattiesburg, MS, Albert Richard "Jojo" Long (Tammy) of Petal, MS; three sisters, Annie Lou Griffith, Geneva Kelly, Verda Voncille "Bonnie" Long, all of Waynesboro, MS; five grandchildren, Brian Long (Angel), Jacob Long, Brady Long, Joshua Long, Karsen Long; two great grandchildren, Grace Long, Jonah Long; a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mr. Long will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Louis Foxworth officiating. Interment will be in West Shady Grove Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
