William Ray Gatlin
July 27, 1933 ~ December 26, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years OldMr. William Ray Gatlin, 84, a resident of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. He was born in Waynesboro on July 27, 1933 to Ben McCaw and Florine Hinley. Mr. Gatlin served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Wayne Haven United Methodist Church. He was the owner and operator for several businesses including a service station and curb market. He also worked in milk delivery for Borden Milk and recently retired from Local LP as a truck driver, where he has worked for many years. Mr. Gatlin is preceded in death by his wife, Jan Gatlin; mother, Florine Hinley; father, Ben McCaw; 2 brother-in-law’s, Joe Stanley, Kenneth Stanley; sister-in-law, Kathy Shrryl Stanley. He is survived by his 3 daughters, Kathy Cochran (Mike) of Clara, Janice Godwin of Atmore, AL, Tammy Gatlin of Waynesboro; brother-in-law, Larry Stanley (Barbara) of Waynesboro; 10 grandchildren, Christl Nicole Touchstone, Traci Odom, Jana Shaw, Nathan Evans, Clint Johnson, Sera Lynn Johnson, Seth Cochran, Emily Godwin, Katilin Roberson, Cee Cee Johnson; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mr. Gatlin will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 28, 2017 in the Wayne Haven United Methodist Church in Wayne County. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 28, 2017 from the Wayne Haven United Methodist Church in Wayne County with Rev. Tom Walker officiating. Interment will be in Wayne Haven United Methodist Cemetery in Wayne County.
