Mr. Thomas Burgess, Sr., 73, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice in New Orleans, LA. He was born in Waynesboro, MS on Friday, September 8, 1944 to Walter Lee Burgess and Grace Williams Burgess. He was retired as the owner and operator of Tom Burgess General Hauling. Mr. Burgess is preceded in death by his wife, Susan L. Burgess; father, Walter Lee Burgess. He is survived by his mother, Grace Williams Burgess of Waynesboro, MS; son, Thomas Burgess, Jr. (Lisette) of Waynesboro, MS; daughters, Evelyn Rogers (Ernest) of Metairie, LA, Rene Williams (Clifford) of Waynesboro, Kathy Russo (Leo) of Harahan, LA, Susan Jane Burgess (Toby) of Sumrall, Larisa Boes of Austin, TX, Lisa Grace Burgess (Norman Chatom) of New Orleans, LA; brother, William Burgess of Alton, PA; half-sister, Gracie Ann Burgess of Quitman; a host of Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Burgess will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Lowery Assembly of God Church in Wayne County, MS with Rev. Rickey Williams    officiating. Interment will be in Lowery Cemetery.
