Mr. Roy D. McCollough, 74, of Matherville, MS passed from this life Friday, June 21, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Mobile, AL on Friday, February 23, 1945 to Emmit McCollough and Madeleine McCollough. He was a devoted member and elder of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Quitman, MS. Anyone who knew him can attest he was a good hardworking Christian man and will be missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing him. He has been a big Christian influence in many people’s lives by living a good and honest example before them. They can also remember growing up as children their father making sure all of their chores was taken care of before going swimming at the creek or just playing around. He worked as a self-employed row crop farmer along beside his wife and their five sons. He was a farmer that was known to fix a 25 year old combine as effortlessly as he could a fourteen year old boy who'd rather swim than cut grass.
