Mr. Roy E. Waite, Sr., 78, of Millry, AL passed from this life Sunday, March 11, 2018 in Waynesboro, MS. He was born in Cullomburg, AL on Saturday, December 2, 1939 to Joseph Aaron Waite, Sr. and Lottie V. Worsham Waite. Mr. Waite was a member of Cullomburg Baptist church. He was retired as a mechanic at Ciba Geigy. He loved being in the outdoors hunting and fishing. He enjoyed watching football, baseball, and many other sports. Mr. Waite is preceded in death by his mother, Lottie V. Worsham Waite; father, Joseph Aaron Waite, Sr.; 5 brothers, Aaron Waite, Worthy Waite, Chester Waite, Woodie Lawrence Waite, Chris Waite; 2 sisters, Louise Wilson, Lucille Bryant. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Irene Touchstone Waite of Millry, AL; 2 sons, Roy E. Waite, Jr. of Thomasville, AL, Ronald Lee "Runt" Waite (Debra) of Dauphin Island, AL; 3 brothers, Robert Waite, Jim Henry Waite, Foy Waite; brother-in-law, O. D. Touchstone; sister-in-law, Lola Newsome; 2 grandsons, Joey Waite (Chana), Chason Waite; 3 granddaughters, Kristen Thompson (Peanut), Erin Waite, Carly Waite; 3 great grandsons, Dalton Thompson, Nathan Powell, Ryan Powell; great granddaughter, Daci Thompson. Visitation for Mr. Waite will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday, March 12, 2018 in the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS 39367. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 with a lie-in-state from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Flat Branch Assembly of God Church, 481 Sam Sullivan Road, Millry, AL 36558 with Rev. Jim Koen and Rev. Andrew Parker officiating. Interment will be in Sandridge Cemetery in Millry, AL.
