Mr. Robert L. Jones, Jr., 85, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Thursday, May 2, 2019 in Meridian, MS. He was born in Wayne County, MS on Sunday, September 3, 1933 to Robert L. Jones, Sr. and Eva Chapman Jones. Mr. Jones was a member of Chapparal Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired as a Gauger at Hunt Oil Company. Mr. Jones is preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Jones, Sr.; mother, Eva Chapman Jones; 2 brothers, Roscoe Jones, Raymond Jones; 2 sisters, Sybil Waller, Barbara Sims; grandson, Cheston Jones. He is survived by 3 sons, Bobby Jones (Kay), Steve Jones (Sharlene), Stan Jones all of Waynesboro, MS; sister, Mary Kathryn Chancellor of Quitman, MS; 4 grandchildren, Randy Jones (Andrea), Robby Jones (Sara), Natlie Walley (Tucker), Starren Jones; 3 great grandchildren, Chesleigh Walley, Phoebe Walley, James Jones; a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mr. Jones will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday, May 3, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS 39367. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. John Pritchard officiating. Interment will be in Chapparal Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
