Rev. Glen Earl Shelby, 84, of Clara, MS passed from this life Saturday, October 12, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Eupora, MS on Friday, July 12, 1935 to Earl Wesley Shelby and Doris Moree Lucius Shelby. He was a member of Trinity Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. Shelby preached the word of God for over 56 years. He was retired as a Teacher and School Bus Driver for Wayne County Public Schools. Rev. Shelby is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Shelby; father, Earl Wesley Shelby; mother, Doris Moree Shelby; brother, Wayne Shelby; son-in-law, Timothy Lynne Sharp; grandson-in-law, Michael Sparks. He is survived by 4 sons, Robert Shelby (Brenda), Joel Shelby (Janet), David Shelby (Delphine) all of Waynesboro, MS, Phillip Shelby (Tracy) of Richton, MS; 2 daughters, Betty Maddox (Mark) of Guin, AL, Becky Sharp of Pensacola, FL; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. Visitation for Rev. Shelby will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 14, 2019 with a lie-in-state from 10:00 AM to 11:00AM at Trinity Free Will Baptist Church in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. William Smith, Rev. Mark Maddox, and Rev. Charles Henderson officiating. Interment will be in Trinity Free Will Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
