Mr. Randy W. Evans, 70, of Coyt, MS passed from this life Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the State Veterans Home in Collins, MS. He was born in Quitman, MS on Friday, June 6, 1947 to V. C. "Ike" Evans and Helen Gandy Evans. Randy was a very devoted lifelong member and Deacon of Coyt Baptist Church. He served in the U. S. Army and was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He served as Class President of the 1965 graduating class of Waynesboro Central High School. He also was a graduate of Jones County Junior College and The University of Southern Mississippi, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He was retired from North Pacific Lumber, where he worked as a Lumber Broker. Randy was an avid fisherman, hunter and sports fan. He was known as a quiet and humble man, small in stature but with a very big heart- kind and caring to all. Randy is preceded in death by his father, V. C. "Ike" Evans and mother, Helen Evans; grandson, Wilson Calvin Slonaker; brother-in-law, Teddy Stanley. He is survived by his daughters, Allison Evans Slonaker, Carly Dearman (Matt), Jill Evans; son-in-law, Jeremy C. Slonaker; brother, Andy Evans (Vannette); sister, Rachel Evans Stanley; 4 grandchildren, Barrett Slonaker, Virginia Slonaker, Matty Beth Dearman, Colton Dearman. Visitation for Mr. Evans will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Monday, December 4, 2017 at Coyt Baptist Church, 175 Coyt Church Road, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM at the church with Rev. Dewayne Crane officiating. Interment will be in Coyt Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Coyt Baptist Church.
