Miriam Grace (Lee) Dyess

Mrs. Miriam Lee Dyess, 96, of Isney, AL passed from this life Thursday, November 22, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Silas, AL on Tuesday, August 22, 1922 to Raymond F. Lee, Sr. and Nina Grace Lee. Mrs. Lee graduated from the Livingston University (UWA) with a master’s in Education and a minor in English. She taught for over 40 years at South Choctaw Academy and Southern Choctaw County High School. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Isney Baptist Church. Mrs. Dyess is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis A. Dyess; father, Raymond F. Lee, Sr.; mother, Nina Grace Lee; 3 brothers, Raymond F. Lee, Jr., Gerald Lee, William K. Lee. She is survived by her daughter, Nina Jo Jones (G. N.), Waynesboro, MS; brother, Rev. Ralph Lee, Silas, AL; 2 sisters, Emogene Dyess, Mobile, AL, Doris Swann, Isney, AL; granddaughter, Sonja Moody Brown (Lonnie), Isney, AL; grandson, Greg Moody (Michelle), Isney, AL; 4 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Dyess will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Isney Baptist Church in Isney, AL. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Isney Baptist Church in Isney, AL with Rev. David Roberson officiating. Interment will be in Isney Cemetery in Isney, AL.
