Melvin R. Bonner

Mr. Melvin R. Bonner, 87, of Port Orange, FL passed from this life Monday, October 22, 2018 at Halifax Health Hospice in Port Orange, FL. He was born in Wayne County, MS on Sunday, December 7, 1930. Mr. Bonner served in the United States Navy and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired as a supervisor at DuPont Company. Mr. Bonner is preceded in death by his wife, Martha M. Bonner; 3 sons, Larry Bonner, Christopher Bonner, Timothy Wayne Bonner; daughter, Sherry Melba Bonner; 4 sisters, Mildred Jones, Ouida Mae Holifield, Eunita "Nita" Holley, Dorothy Burford. He is survived by his 2 brothers, Nolan Bonner (Roberta), Livermore, CA, Forrest Bonner (Bonnie), Clara, MS; a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mr. Bonner will be held from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 27, 2018 in the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 27, 2018 in the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Tom Walker officiating. Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
