Mrs. Louvenia Hinton, 94, a resident of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro. She was born in Bayonne, NJ on Thursday, September 13, 1923 to Dr. Newton H. and Rose Marie Cooley. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 24 in Waynesboro. She was retired as bookkeeper and owner/operator of Waynesboro's very first Christian Bookstore. Mrs. Hinton is preceded in death by her husband, J. D. Hinton; mother, Rose Marie Cooley; father, Dr. Newton H. Cooley; son, William Jay Hinton; 2 grandchildren, Melissa Palmer, Sherri L. Young. She is survived by her 2 sons, Edward Hinton of Collins, Douglas Bryan Hinton of Waynesboro; daughter, Marguerite Palmer (Mack) of Waynesboro; 5 grandchildren, Roger C. Palmer, Jason B. Palmer (Gina), Matthew Scott Hinton (Amanda), Brandi Lindsey (Chris), Lynette Curry (Jerry); 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. Visitation for Mrs. Hinton will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday, December 29, 2017 in the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS 39367. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 30, 2017 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro with Rev. Phillip Gandy, Rev. Dwight Smith, and Dr. Andy Olson officiating. Interment will be in Maynor Creek Cemetery in Waynesboro.
