Laverne Odom Bishop

Mrs. Laverne Odom Bishop, 79, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. She was born in Wayne County, MS on Friday, March 24, 1939 to Lawrence Odom and Susie McCarty Odom Lassiter. She was a member of Little Rock Assembly of God Church. She was retired as a bookkeeper for Wayne County School. Mrs. Bishop is preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Odom; mother, Susie Odom Lassiter; step father, Henry Lassiter; 2 brothers, Claude Odom, Melvin Odom; 2 sister-in-law's, Jeanette Odom, Gayle Odom. She is survived by her loving husband, Norman Bishop, Waynesboro, MS; son, Chris Bishop, Waynesboro, MS; daughter, Teri Crow (Howard), Semmes, AL; 3 grandchildren, Aaron Hall (Lisa), Tyler Hall, Shaun Hall (Stephanie); 2 great grandchildren, Ava Hall, Taylen Hall; a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Bishop will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Ronnie Morris and Rev. Tamber Proctor officiating. Interment will be in Hebron Cemetery in Wayne County, MS.
