Laura Sue K. Clanton

Mrs. Laura Sue K. Clanton, 80, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Brookwood Villa Personal Care Home in Waynesboro, MS. She was born in Anguilla, MS on Saturday, September 16, 1939 to John Carroll Kendrick and Susie Kendrick. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. She was also a volunteer at the Waynesboro-Wayne County Library Bookstore and an avid library patron who actively helped sponsor the Annual Tasting Bee and Whistlestop. Most of all, she was a Christian lady who dedicated her life to serving others by being a devoted wife, loving mother, wonderful grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.  Mrs. Clanton is preceded in death by her father, John Carroll Kendrick; mother, Susie Kendrick; sister, Jeanette Jones; 3 brothers, George Kendrick, Bobby Kendrick, Willard Kendrick. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Duane Clanton, Waynesboro, MS; son, Michael Duane Clanton (Pam), Waynesboro, MS; 2 daughters, Laurie Clanton McGraw (John), Penny Clanton Manning (Gary), both of Waynesboro, MS; 7 grandchildren, Joshua Clanton (Julia), Albany, NH, Naomi Clanton Bodnar (Stephen), Caleb Clanton (Andrea), Miriam Clanton Nicholson (Josh), Abigail Clanton, Lydia Clanton, Jake Manning, all residing in Waynesboro, MS; 7 great grandchildren, Jude Clanton, Avé Clanton, Elijah Clanton, Emory Clanton, Emma Clanton, Aiden Bodnar, Breland Manning; sister, June Cochran, Waynesboro, MS; brother, Hubert Kendrick (Patsy), Waynesboro, MS, brother, Charles Kendrick (Margaret), Petal, MS; sister, Linda Cancienne (Mike), Magnolia, MS, sister, Betty Leonard (Buddy), Summitt, MS; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, family, and pets. Visitation for Mrs. Clanton will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 03, 2019 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 04, 2019 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Charlie Laird, Rev. Randy James, and Rev. Roger Douglas officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.  Pallbearers are Caleb Clanton, Jake Manning, Josh Nicholson, Stephen Bodnar, Gary Manning, John McGraw. Honorary Pallbearers are Ronald Porter, Gerald Daugherty, Bill Gardner, Jerry McRae, Sonny Rainwater. Memorial contributions may also be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church or an animal shelter or rescue league of your choice.
