Larry Wilson, 70, of Decatur, TN passed away Monday, September 3, 2018 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. He was born in Laurel, MS and had resided in Decatur, TN for the past 31 years coming from Waynesboro, MS. He was the son of the late James Woodrow “J. W.” and Katharyn Pittman Wilson. He proudly served in the United States Army. He retired from Exploration Geophysics Inc. as a seismographer for the natural gas and oil industry, an adventure that sent him too many locations around the world. He had countless stories to tell of his travels. He was a HAM operator and enjoyed repairing computers for his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Woodrow “J. W.” and Katharyn Pittman Wilson.
Survivors include his daughter Katharyn Lynn Wilson, Waynesboro, MS; first cousins, Alice Whatley Waller, Linda Whatley Hardesty, Charlotte Orr Johnson, Carmen Orr Scheibler, Candice Little Nicholson, Dawn Little McDowell, Derrick Little, Deborah Dereese.
Visitation for Mr. Wilson will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 9, 2018 in the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS. Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Curtis Cain officiating. Interment will be in Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
