Jo Ann Burns

Mrs. Jo Ann Burns, 82, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Monday, April 15, 2019 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel. She was born in Magnolia, AR on Monday, August 31, 1936 to James Corbin Barker and Lucille Barker. She was a faithful member of Waynesboro Church of Christ. She worked as a Teacher's Aide for a number of years and was loved by all who knew her. Mrs. Jo Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Charles Burns; father, James Corbin Barker and mother, Lucille Barker; son, Anthony Burns; 2 brothers, Jimmy Barker, Bobby Barker; 2 sisters, Hellen Dean Hatch, and Linda Dubose. She is survived by 2 sons, Rodney Burns (Anna), Greg Burns (Deana), both of Waynesboro, MS; brother, James Corbin Barker, Meridian, TX; sister, Betty Disotell, Taylor, AR; 4 grandchildren, Ashley Carney, Jacob Burns, Adam Burns, Grant Burns; 6 great grandchildren, Luke Smith, Kyle Carney, Addi Carney, Brae Burns, Weston Burns, Waylon Burns. Visitation for Mrs. Jo Ann will be held from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Seth Sullivan officiating. Interment will be in White House Cemetery.
