Jefferson M. McMichael

Mr. Jefferson M. McMichael, 97, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Monday, September 10, 2018 at Wayne General Hospital. He was born in Waynesboro on Friday, April 22, 1921 to John Perry McMichael and Abbie Gail McMichael. He was a member of West Shady Grove Baptist Church. He served in the U. S. Navy and was a Veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Pipeline Construction industry as a Welder. Mr. McMichael is preceded in death by his father, John Perry McMichael and mother, Abbie Gail McMichael; son-in-law, Robert Fowler; daughter-in-law, Sandra McMichael; 5 brothers, David McMichael, Johnny McMichael, Leland McMichael, Howard McMichael, Willie McMichael; 2 sisters, Earcle Douglas, Mary DeStefano. He is survived by his wife, Leal McMichael, Waynesboro, MS; 2 sons, Dale McMichael (Pat), Waynesboro, MS, Ed McMichael (Debra), Aquilla, AL; daughter, Diann Fowler, Cantonment, FL; brother, Jessie Paul McMichael, Quincy, FL; 3 sisters, Eunice Hearn, Laurel, MS, Thelma Jordan, Ellisville, MS, O'Mera Dail, Buckatunna, MS; 15 Grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews. Visitation for Mr. McMichael will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Ervin Mooney and Bro. Steve Smith officiating. Interment will be in Antioch Cemetery, Waynesboro, MS.
