Mr. Herbert Tolar Hulsey, 82, a resident of Waynesboro, MS, passed from this life surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Pine View Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waynesboro.

He leaves his wife of 61 years, Julia “Judy” (Henry) Hulsey; two sisters, Wilma Taylor and Clarice Reggie (George); two daughters, Debbie Myers (Mike) and Wanda James (Eric); two sons, Keith Hulsey (JJ) and Scott Hulsey. He leaves 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

In his early years, Herbert enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing softball, basketball, dominoes, and card games. He was full of witty mischief and was never in short supply of a good joke. Herbert made his living in the auto parts industry as owner and operator of Automotive Supply. He was a volunteer at Wayne County Volunteer Fire Department and React Search and Rescue. Herbert also donated his time coaching Dixie Youth Baseball where he was a proud All-Star coach. In his 58 years as a member of Calvary Baptist Church he served as deacon, taught boys Sunday School, and served on various committees. His greatest loves in life were his family, friends, fishing, and homemade vanilla ice cream. We can be assured that he is in his eternal home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He is preceded in death by his father, Kiser Tolar Hulsey; mother, Vinnie Clarice Donald Hulsey; brothers, Howard Thomas Hulsey and Herschel Ray Hulsey; and sister, Mamie L. Kirkland.

Pall bearers include Harold Bennett, Jimmy Blakeney, John Mark Clark, Bill Harrison, Jimmy Hulsey, and Mike Stevens.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Freeman Chapel at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Waynesboro Cemetery.

Memorial gifts can be made to the foreign mission fund at Calvary Baptist Church in Waynesboro, MS, 615 South St. Waynesboro, MS  39367.
