Mr. Glennis "Coon" Douglas, 79, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro, MS. He was born in Wayne County, MS on Thursday, March 7, 1940 to Lewis Bunyan Douglas and Wilma Douglas. He worked as a saw operator at Eddie Gatlin Sawmill. Mr. Douglas is preceded in death by his wife, Edna L. Douglas; father, Lewis Bunyan Douglas; mother, Wilma Douglas; brother, Lewis Douglas; sister, Sue Welborn. He is survived by his 2 sons, Glenn Allen Douglas, Waynesboro, MS, Roy Glennis Douglas (Heather), Buckatunna, MS; 2 step sons, Donald Keith Mitchener (Becky), Michael Mitchener; 6 grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Douglas will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS 39367. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 19, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Rickey Williams officiating. Interment will be in Providence Cemetery in State Line, MS.
