George Burton

Mr. George Burton of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Wayne General Hospital. He was 80. He was born in Monroeville, AL on Monday, March 14, 1938 to Odis Frank Burton and Linnie Presley Burton. Mr. George was a loving devoted husband, father and grandfather. He served as a Deacon at Waynesboro First Baptist Church and taught a men's Sunday School Class. He retired from Wayne Auto Supply. Mr. George is preceded in death by his father, Odis Frank Burton and mother, Linnie Presley Burton; 2 brothers, Odis Burton and James Burton. He is survived by his loving wife of 59, 1/2 years, Ann Holcomb Burton, Waynesboro, MS; son, Tim Burton, Waynesboro, MS; daughter, Cindy Burton Smith (Randy), Laurel, MS, grandchild, Jesse Smith, Laurel, MS. Visitation for Mr. George will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 4, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Serenity Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers are active Deacons of First Baptist Church. Honorary Pallbearers are his men's Sunday School Class.
