Mrs. Elvis West, 96, of Buckatunna, MS passed from this life Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Washington County, AL on Friday, August 25, 1922 to Nathaniel "Nath" Dearmon and Agnes Dearmon. She was a member of Red Creek Church of God and was a home maker. Mrs. West is preceded in death by her husband, Aden West; mother, Agnes Dearmon; father, Nath Dearmon; 3 sons, Selwin West, Nathaniel "Pop" West, Grover Gene West; 3 brothers, Julius Dearmon, Russell Dearmon, Stance Dearmon; 3 sisters, Mavis Corley, Elvia Sturdivant, Phillis Wells. She is survived by 4 sons, Sylvester West (Glenda), Richton, MS, Sol West (Lisa), William Gaston West (Susie), Douglas "Ed" West (Betty) all of Buckatunna, MS; daughter, Sylvia Jean Sturdivant, Buckatunna, MS; brother, Ceborn Dearmon, Waynesboro, MS; 2 sisters, Versie Sullivan, Millry, AL, Minerva Robinson, State Line, MS; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. West will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Thursday, October 11, 2018 in the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 12, 2018 in the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Steve Watts officiating. Interment will be in Red Creek Cemetery in Wayne County, MS.
