Donald Allen Story

Donald Allen Story, 81, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Monday, November 19, 2018 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.  He was born in Merigold, MS on May 15, 1937. 

Mr. Story served in the United States Navy in Data Operations. He continued his civilian career in Data Operations and retired from First State Bank as Senior Vice President of Operations.

He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and a devout prayer warrior for his family and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Edward E. Story, his mother, Annis O. Story; two brothers, Edward Story, Bill Story; sister, Mary Rose Henderson; his first wife, Jane Garner Story.

Mr. Story is survived by his wife, Myrna Story, Waynesboro, MS; his daughter, Christy Moriarty (Peter), Orange VA; brother, Billy G. Story, Waynesboro, MS; sister, Charlotte McGarr (Bob), Texarkana, TX; two step-sons, Chris Gandy (Regina), Waynesboro, MS, Noel Gandy (Jill), Shenandoah, IA; eight grandchildren, Thomas Ford Moriarty, Robin Story Moriarty, Lily Caroline Atkinson Moriarty, Colton Garner Moriarty, Charles Bedford Gandy, Lucy Beth Gandy, Cody Lassiter and Kelsey Lassiter. Pallbearers are: James Reeves, Eric Giles, B. J. Cooley, Steven Miller, Scott Taylor, Timmy Bayne, John McIlwain, and Randy McIlwain.

A Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 8 PM, Friday, November 23, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS.  The Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home. Burial will be at Community Southern Methodist Church on Dyess Bridge Road.

In lieu of flowers, Don had expressed that he would like memorials to be sent to Christ Point Baptist Church, 602 Maple Street, Shenandoah, Iowa 51601 or the church of your choice.
