Bodie Jackson Baygents

Mr. Bodie Jackson Baygents, 98, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Monday, October 8, 2018 at Brookwood Villa Personal Care Home in Waynesboro. He was born in Wayne County, MS on Monday, August 16, 1920 to Walter Wallace Baygents and Phoebia Ann Baygents. He was a member of Clara Church of God. He served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of World War II. He was self-employed in the Cattle industry as a Livestock Dealer. He was an avid hunter and loved his Beagles. Mr. Bodie is preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Brewer Baygents; father, Walter Wallace Baygents and mother, Phoebia Ann Baygents; 4 Brothers, 2 Sisters; grandson, Jess Lancaster; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Teresa Baygents. He is survived by his son, Walter Perry Baygents (Tanya), Waynesboro, MS; 2 daughters, Lynda Walker (Bidmer Ray), Waynesboro, MS, Marge Baygents (Tim Stark), Atchison, KS; 5 grandchildren, B. J. Walker (Melissa), Michelle Johnson (Robert), Gordan Baygents (Jenci), Jillian Baygents, Zachary Lancaster; 7 great grandchildren, Adam Johnson, Chris Johnson, Valarie Taylor, Jack Walker,  Alaina Walker, Canon Baygents, Clayton Baygents; 4 great-great grandchildren, Bentley Johnson, Cooper Taylor, Carson Taylor, Brooklyn Johnson. Visitation for Mr. Bodie will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Harvest Temple Church of God, 111 Turner Street, Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Edward Bean, Rev. Norman Hartshorn and Rev. Phillip Gandy officiating. A lie-in-state will be held at the church from 10 AM to 11 AM Thursday prior to the service. Interment will be in White House Cemetery.
