Betty W. Haynes Obituary

Betty W. Haynes (Gam), age 93, of Waynesboro, MS passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018.

Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Jack A. Q. Haynes (Mr. Jack), and by her son, Philip. She is survived by her son, David (Mary) Haynes, and her daughter-in-law, Marcia Haynes; three grandsons, Scott (Krislyn) Haynes, Walter Haynes, and Michael Haynes; and two great grandchildren, Madeline and Jack Haynes.

Betty was born in 1925 and raised in Burlington, Iowa. She completed a secretarial program and worked in Burlington until her marriage in 1947 to Mr. Jack. During their years together, they lived in Opelika, AL, Fairhope, AL, Butler, AL, and Waynesboro, MS. She was a devoted wife and mother and excelled in cooking, flower gardening, and painting. Betty loved the Christmas season and always made it special for her family. Her sense of humor and wit were trademarks.

A private service was held for the family.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Wayne County Library.
