Barbara Jean Carr Obituary

Mrs. Barbara Jean Carr, 82, of Buckatunna, MS passed from this life Friday, April 5, 2019 at Wayne General Hospital. She was born in Barstow, CA on Tuesday, May 12, 1936 to Gordon Wilson Wood and Mattie Adelle Wood. She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church, and a member of the Waynesboro Order of the Eastern Star. She had worked for a number of years as Owner/Operator of a Grocery Store in Buckatunna. Mrs. Carr is preceded in death by her husband, W. J. Carr; father, Gordon Wilson Wood; mother, Mattie Adelle Wood; step-mother, Judy Ferrera; brothers, Richard Douglas Windham and Glenn Wilson Wood. She is survived by her son, Fred Carr (Sissy), Buckatunna, MS; brother, Gordon Wood, California; grandchildren, Crystal Bates and Jeremy Carr (Morgan) of Buckatunna, MS; 3 great-grandchildren, Carrson Bates, Carrter Bates, Anniston Carr; 2 nieces, Laura Wood Graham (Tom), Shelby Wood. Visitation for Mrs. Carr will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse Long and Rev. Rickey Revette officiating. Interment will be in Lewis Chapel Cemetery in Buckatunna.
