Mr. Arthur "Buddy" Merrill, 82, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born in Buckatunna, MS on Saturday, October 12, 1935 to S. E. "Bee" Merrill and Irene Merrill. He was a member of Lee's Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. He was retired as a tool pusher in the Oil Field. Mr. Merrill is preceded in death by his first wife, Bertile Merrill; mother, Irene Merrill; father, S. E. "Bee" Merrill; 2 brother, S. E. "Junior" Merrill, William Francis Merrill; 2 sisters, Marie Louder, JoAnn Dorr; grandchild, Joseph Shannon Kittrell. He is survived by his wife, Vera Merrill, Waynesboro, MS; 2 sons, Douglas Merrill (Sherri), Waynesboro, MS, Glenn Merrill, Waynesboro, MS; 4 daughters, Diana Merrill, Vancleve, MS, Denise Smith (Billy), Vancleve, MS, Regina Couture (Gene), Sandhill, MS, Bettina Bonner (Shannon), Clara, MS; 2 step daughters, Tammy Pittman (Rev. Tedlen), Buckatunna, MS, Jammy Richard, Waynesboro, MS; sister, Betty Crager, Leakesville, MS; 16 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mr. Merrill will be held from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 4, 2018 in the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS 39367. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 4, 2018 in the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Tedlen Pittman officiating. Interment will be in County Line Cemetery in State Line, MS.
