Mrs. Anita K. Miller, 91, of Birmingham, AL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 31. She immigrated to the United States from Germany at the age of 25, and subsequently became a U.S. citizen. In America, she spent most of her life in the Chicago area and in Waynesboro, Mississippi, dedicating her life to God and family. Mrs. Miller loved spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed studying scripture, traveling, playing the piano, ice skating, and swimming. She was also known for her quick wit; detailed organization; and sweet, generous nature.
Mrs. Miller is survived by children Braxton Miller (Eileen), Bartley Miller, and Brenda Miller; stepdaughter Lou Ann Schwab (Dennis) and family; and grandchildren Joshua Miller and Peter Miller. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Martha Kalkreuth; brother, Hans-Joachim Kalkreuth; husband, Dennis J. Miller; and stepson, Stephen Miller.
Visitation for Mrs. Miller will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 07, 2019 at Green’s Creek Cemetery with Rev. Curtis Cain officiating. Interment will be in Green’s Creek Cemetery in Petal, MS.
