Mrs. Nellie L. Ethridge, 83, of State Line, MS passed from this life Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro, MS. She was born in Buckatunna, MS on Monday, February 13, 1939 to the late Bill and Lois McInnis.
She loved watching and attending Fruitdale High School Football games. With her grandson playing on the team and granddaughter in the band, she didn’t miss a game. She was their biggest fan and made sure they knew it. She was a member of Johnson Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Ethridge grew up singing gospel music, she especially loved Southern Gospel Music. She could also play a mean piano, which she did for years at church. She was retired as an Office Manager at Lucedale Appliance Store.
Mrs. Ethridge is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Ethridge; parents, Bill and Lois McInnis; brother, Buster McInnis; seven sisters, Ruby Campbell, Hazel Singley, Doris Knight, Billie McIlwain, Margie Wilson, Francis Tate, Peggy Giles.
She is survived by her son, William "Billy Ray" Ethridge (Terry) of Fruitdale, AL; three special nephews, Rocky Ethridge (Lorrie), Mitchell Ethridge (Debbie) both of Fruitdale, AL, Scott Tate (Jana) of Buckatunna, MS; four special nieces, Marcia Clingan (Van) of Buckatunna, MS, Abbie Ezell (Glenn), Karen Lankford both of State Line, MS, Tina Tate of Waynesboro, MS; grandson, William "Billy" Ethridge (Shanna) of Chatom, AL; granddaughter, Shannon Richardson (Craig) of Fruitdale, AL; four great-grandchildren, KyLeigh, Allie, Grayson, and Gunner.
Visitation for Mrs. Ethridge will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, June 20, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS 39367. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 20, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Dalton Tate officiating. Interment will be in State Line Cemetery in State Line, MS.
