Mrs. Ouida S. Ganus, 75, of Millry, AL passed from this life Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Brookwood Villa Personal Care Home in Waynesboro, MS. She was born in Washington County, AL on Monday, February 16, 1942 to James A. Stewart, Sr. and Lottie V Stewart. She was retired from Washington County Board of Education as a public school teacher. She was a member of Progress Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Ganus is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charlie Ganus; mother, Lottie V Stewart; father, James A. Stewart, Sr.; brother, James A. "Jimmy" Stewart, Jr.; infant sister. She is survived 2 sisters, Virginia Elizabeth Wright, Linda Gail Phillips both of Millry, AL; 3 sisters-in-law’s, Ann Stewart, Linda Ganus Mosley, Kathie Ganus Dearmon; 3 brother-in-law’s, William Yancey Ganus, Harold Jackson Ganus, Clay Vance Ganus; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Pallbearers are: Daniel Ganus, Marcus Dearmon, Shawn Hale, Jack Stewart, Julius Wright, and Tyler Wright. Visitation for Mrs. Ganus will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS 39367. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM with a lie-in-state from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Progress Assembly of God Church, 737 Denham Progress Road, Buckatunna, MS 39322 with Rev. John Brown, Rev. James Stacey, and Rev. Ed Pickle officiating. Interment will be in Progress Cemetery in Buckatunna, MS.
